Country French Farmhouse - Bangall, NY
Built in small increments over a period of two hundred years, containing a series of wonderful interior spaces, this rambling house was in desperate need of a coherent facade. The design task was to expand the second floor into a Master Bedroom Suite and, in the process to resurrect the overall house image into a coherent, and creative composition. This was achieved by instilling the appropriate image of the French Country Farmhouse. Architectural elements such as the hipped roofs, French casement windows, field stone foundation walls and a stone chimney, were all carefully incorporated into the overall design.
The project included renovating and providing drama to the existing Foyer by creating a new set of open stairs to the Second Floor. New masonry fireplaces, well crafted wood wainscoting and custom cabinetry, renovated porches, and copper roof details were a few of the major elements contributed to this spectacular transformation.
