Roseview Dressage - Millbrook, NY
Roseview, a successful stable focused on dressage, is gracefully situated on a large parcel of land in the Hudson Valley's prime horse country. With the owner’s creative vision and efficient use of pre-fabricated Amish-built stable structures, Sloan Architects was hired to modify the standard off-the-shelf design to create a custom interior. The original 12 stall barn footprint was modified to include 8 large stalls, an elegant heated tack room, tiled bathroom, wash stall, feed room and large hay loft, incorporating rich woodwork detailing, unique architectural salvage including period lighting and hardware to create a one of a kind equestrian experience.
In designing the site, careful attention was placed on transforming land which was once a large scale commercial quarry. The site features an expansive riding arena, a unique viewing stand, formal gardens, a European style courtyard with a fountain and dramatic rolling meadow paddocks with dramatic views of a large lake below and the Catskill Mountains beyond.
